Number 8 Someone "plugged in" to social media

We went to the Black Country Museum today with the Lord Admiral and Lady Bluefunnel

It is a fascinating place with old houses and shops and the Workmen's Institute. So much to learn and so much to see. We went into the cafe after our two trips on the trolley bus and there was this couple, totally sucked into their phones

2. An Ornate Doorknocker

This is so good because this is MY door! The knocker is brass but has not been cleaned since it was put there 34 years ago. It is perfect for wiring the Christmas wreath to every year and occasionally people use it to knock the door when they don't see the glowing bell-push at the side of the door. So good to have started

Valentine's Postcard Exchange

These are the postcards I received. aren't they lovely?
It was such good fun choosing and sending out my cards and then waiting... I hate waiting ...

Some of them came from so far away and now they are pinned to my wall until December 31st.

What? you don't do that? oh I love postcards and I have kept every one I have ever received since I was a small child. My Granny used to send me a postcard every time she went anywhere. She went to America for three months to visit her brothers and sisters who emigrated there in the 1920s and she sent me more than 50 cards which were destroyed during an altercation in a previous life.
I kept my postcards well hidden after that. Mr M doesn't share my love of postcards but he has been known to carefully put away any new additions in the file drawers allocated to them.

I always pin them to the wall just behind the front door - after I have read them and showed them to Mr M of course - and there they stay until the end of the year when they will be transferred into categories in the drawer

Thank you to everyone who has sent me postcards in the Valentine's Postcard exchange

I will come back and put a picture of all my received postcards when all six have arrived. In the mean time I will just say thank you to everyone for taking part and giving me so much fun. I love receiving postcards. One of the things my children will have to do when I am gone is decide what the heck to do with my 60 year old collection of postcards - some of them much older than that too.

Definitely NMP (not my problemo)

Sometimes I worry...

Sometimes I worry because I see other people's blogs with pictures of their scrapbook pages and they have all sorts of stuff on the page. Metal stuff like paper clips and staples, wooden bits like pegs and they use different tapes and stickies.

I worry because staples will rust... not "might" rust but will definitely rust as will paper clips. Sticky tapes will dry and the sticky might damage pictures unless it is acid free.

I wonder if they have thought about how long their pages will last with all this stuff - putting doilies on a page is fine as long as they are not the cheap ones from the bargain shop because they are NOT acid free and the paper will leach the acids into the acid free paper and leave a permanent doily impression on the backs of pictures and that will soak through the pictures.

I think I have to make a resolution to stop worrying for other people

In the mean time here is a ZiZo Miss Boo enjoying an after dinner magnum

Winter Scavenger HUnt - Number 15 Bunting

OK so technically it's not really bunting but it could have been, once.

I suppose this would also qualify for a ZiZo. The second picture shows how far away he was when we spotted him and then did the usual find a place to turn around, drive back down the road and then turn around again just for a picture.
Shows what a kind man Mr M can be. He also slows down to 40mph when I say I am trying to get a picture.
